The first few spears of asparagus, the first stalks of rhubarb, some chinese cabbages, some chives, some green onions, kale, and pac choi. All pretty tasty. The weather turned chilly, extremely windy, and it's been pouring rain for the past two days so the garden production will probably slow down for a bit until the weather reverts back to a little warmer conditions.kitsapFGhttp://www.modernvictorygarden.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3698134075709295915.post-90898881292529951082010-03-29T20:32:22.571-04:002010-03-29T20:32:22.571-04:00Oh wow, busy doesn't start to describe the sit...Oh wow, busy doesn't start to describe the situation. I did, however, make a few meals using my home canned tomato sauce, which has been sadly neglected up there on the top shelf in my kitchen, and I opened my first pint of homemade ketchup! Laundry room improvements are keeping me too busy for gardening this week, other than keeping my seedlings taken care of.Annie*s Grannyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04772261218172078099noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3698134075709295915.post-26586824572713555662010-03-29T11:51:53.401-04:002010-03-29T11:51:53.401-04:00kiwi gomes, now don't mention rain. I'm the worst offender since I track garden mud in at times. I do remove my shoes at the door, but somehow it gets all over. It would be fun to meet sometime with the three of us, but I doubt I would have time for this visit. If she goes there, the odds are much better.

Karen Ann, she wants to get her phd in physics. Her interest is in theoretical quantum gravity. GrafixMuse, y...Ali, well you do get eggs too :>

GrafixMuse, yeah the garden will be a bit ignored for the next week. After our house goes on the market, my job here will be done at least. Well I have to keep the house spic and span, but no going through our whole life and getting rid of the unused bits of it. No paint smells in the house. Ah it will be so much nicer. :> Then of course the move in will be a PITA. But I think I will have a couple weeks of breathing space between them. I have a week to pull my house together.

Karen, she does have a lot. Too many in some ways.

villager, hopefully things won't be too woefully neglected in the coming week.

Jody M, I made a spreadsheet last year. It has all the prices of what the organic or IPM vegetables go for in my area (mostly from the farmer's market, since that is where I would have bought them). Then I just recorded all the weights as they came out of the garden. The spreadsheet calculated the worth of all of it. I also kept track of what I spent. And subtracted that from the total of what I got back from the garden. There are a million ways to count it all, but that is what I did. This year will be different since it will be the cost of getting a new garden constructed.Daphne Gouldhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17305049560953735881noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3698134075709295915.post-54073019384124780512010-03-29T09:25:02.182-04:002010-03-29T09:25:02.182-04:00Gidday Daphne ...
