That bed isn't technically self seeded. I harvested the coriander and then put the chaff in that bed as I knew that is where I wanted my cilantro to be. There were tons of seed in the chaff. I had so many seeds that I didn't really need to harvest them all.Daphne Gouldhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17305049560953735881noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3698134075709295915.post-13474853279014827732012-03-28T07:41:01.005-04:002012-03-28T07:41:01.005-04:00Yes frozen cilantro works in salsa. I usually have problems getting it to grow. It always seems to bolt prematurely on me. SugarSnax is a good keeper as it gets really big, so great harvests and tastes good, but not as good as Mokum. Purple Haze was planted for fun. It was the best overwinterer, but didn't produce as well as the others and tended to be better for cooking than fresh eating.Daphne Gouldhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17305049560953735881noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3698134075709295915.post-67015367930555985682012-03-26T17:35:39.510-04:002012-03-26T17:35:39.510-04:00Lovely harvest Daphne, lots of carrots do you plan...Lovely harvest Daphne, lots of carrots do you plant many varieties or do you have a favorite?Andreahttp://harvestwithglee.blogspot.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3698134075709295915.post-66597963836864367392012-03-26T14:08:09.997-04:002012-03-26T14:08:09.997-04:00I blanch and freeze carrots in the fall.
