Great to have the internet these days to see how other people manage this. I always assumed it was some kind of fungus, partly caused by watering from above. Maybe I will try using a sweet potato for the foliage accent, that's a great idea. By the way, Blue Diamond makes an unsweetened almond-coconut milk blend that is delicious, if you can find it in the stores.David Veltenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07710293718143454000noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3698134075709295915.post-33335789433498468612014-09-25T10:48:34.589-04:002014-09-25T10:48:34.589-04:00I get that same problem in my napa cabbages. I also think it's something fungal so it's a good thing I didn't get any going for this fall, fungal diseases are running rampant in my garden this year. I love the idea of growing sweet potatoes in a pot as an ornamental. I only eat them on rare occasions so a few pots would give me all I need.Michellehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07812702328134261533noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3698134075709295915.post-2159122502161208972014-09-25T00:02:36.610-04:002014-09-25T00:02:36.610-04:00That quiche looks yummy, even 'healthy', h...That quiche looks yummy, even 'healthy', ha. And I never thought about having an ornamental sweet potato and reaping the edible benefits at the end. Great idea. I'm about to dump our 'trash cans' with sweet potatoes growing in them and see what comes out. 1st Manhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04861609647607912193noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3698134075709295915.post-474584879367377892014-09-24T16:14:50.865-04:002014-09-24T16:14:50.865-04:00Yeah it is some kind of fungal disease. I wasn't planning to grow sweet potatoes next year, but having them as an ornamental in a pot is such a great idea, I may just do that.
