If the marigolds don't work, I'll have to try it.Daphne Gouldhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17305049560953735881noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3698134075709295915.post-70564640469735444372009-01-03T11:07:00.000-05:002009-01-03T11:07:00.000-05:00Hi Daphne, Have you ever tried crab meal for your...Hi Daphne, Have you ever tried crab meal for your solanaceous plants? It supposedly has nematode suppressant qualities and is a slow release source of nitrogen and calcium.Michellehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07812702328134261533noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3698134075709295915.post-74113675390186472412009-01-03T07:51:00.000-05:002009-01-03T07:51:00.000-05:00Annie's Granny: Well I know a few Latin names, but...Annie's Granny: Well I know a few Latin names, but I tend to forget. I do know both the ground cherry and tomatillo are in the same genus, but I can only remember that it starts with a 'p' and has a 'y' in it. I can't remember the whole name. Tomatoes, potatoes, and eggplants are in the genus solanum. However for me a bean is just a bean too - though I wouldn't be terribly surprised if it had legume in it. The funny thing is that I was one of the few people that complained when Carol of May Dream Gardens told us to embrace Latin names. I love regional, common names for things. They often embody the the plant better than the Latin name.

Karen: Thanks! I hope they work out too.Daphne Gouldhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17305049560953735881noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3698134075709295915.post-36453693237998337332009-01-03T00:07:00.000-05:002009-01-03T00:07:00.000-05:00Sounds like a good plan!
