Fortunately, I haven't had many issues with soil borne fungal diseases, I hope it stays that way!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3698134075709295915.post-18488760697866912472011-07-21T19:30:26.585-04:002011-07-21T19:30:26.585-04:00Daphne, I tried to braid my softneck garlic, but m...Daphne, I tried to braid my softneck garlic, but mine do not look neat like yours.Norma Changhttp://www.luv2wok.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3698134075709295915.post-90789916829235340812011-07-16T18:23:48.726-04:002011-07-16T18:23:48.726-04:00Ribbit, I've never had a garlic do that to me....Ribbit, I've never had a garlic do that to me. I had a few weirdly shaped ones. And the rot of course, but never not cloving up.

Thomas, my leaves were all over the board. Some hadn't started to die off yet. Some had almost all died. Usually it ripens all at the same time, but not this time.

GrafixMuse, Sadly today got hot and sticky again. Ah well this is the first day of another heat weave.

Stefaneener, for most things my soil is great. Alliums in particular seem very affected by it.

Granny, my onion bed will be covered in a hoop. Well once the onions are pulled.Daphne Gouldhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17305049560953735881noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3698134075709295915.post-41168047368308648822011-07-15T16:57:44.458-04:002011-07-15T16:57:44.458-04:00I'm going to harvest my spring planted garlic ...I'm going to harvest my spring planted garlic soon, even though it's small and won't store. I didn't plant a lot (because it was spring!), and what I've pulled so far has been perfect for immediate use. I need the bed to turn into a hoop covered bed for fall crops!Annie*s Grannyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04772261218172078099noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3698134075709295915.post-22317139978023358882011-07-15T15:49:19.400-04:002011-07-15T15:49:19.400-04:00My alliums are all over the place. Most of the cloves were good sized. There were a few small ones that I will use up first.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01129119492962711399noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3698134075709295915.post-21608453880516174022011-07-15T13:54:00.069-04:002011-07-15T13:54:00.069-04:00That's strange. The leaves still look pretty green and SSE advises to harvest when there are 5 green leaves remaining. I pulled up four the other day and the results were pretty inconsistent among my German Extra Hardy. I think I'll take my chances and wait a bit longer.Thomashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09303344546714641616noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3698134075709295915.post-53305595430743540042011-07-15T13:01:59.543-04:002011-07-15T13:01:59.543-04:00Your bulbs are beautiful!
