Harvest Monday - December 12, 2011

I'd tell you all the wonderful things I picked, but I've got nothing. I've been away. And will be away again. My time between trips was short so I didn't go out picking. Plus with parties and going out I had only one meal at home. I did eat some frozen veggies. Carrots, chard, and corn. And some frozen soups for lunch that were made from my garden veggies.

I'm hoping some things did get picked while I was gone. I told my townhouse mates what Asian greens they could pick. But honestly I didn't see much gone. Maybe they will do better this coming week.

Harvest Monday is a day to show off your harvests, how you are saving your harvest, or how you are using your harvest. If you have a harvest you want to show off, add your name and link to Mr Linky below.

  1. It must be that time of year ;-) Things have been pretty crazy around here, too. Luckily the garden doesn't seem to care much as it's not producing much...at all! Hope you have a happy week, Daphne!

  3. I did not have the excuse of traveling, but my harvests and cooking were very minimal this week as well. Been busy with other holiday preparations and completing some professional education requirements - result was not much to show on my harvest Monday post. We are fast approaching the winter solstice and it appears my gardening is at it's lowest point too. LOL!

  7. Not much of a harvest around our place either, just a small head of lettuce and a few tomatoes that had finally ripened in the garage. Have a great trip and a happy holiday!

  9. I'm still harvesting Cavolo Nero, Swiss Chard and Perpetual Spinach. Also more chillis; and the salads keep coming - mostly endives and Landcress now.

  13. Generally whwn we rely on other people to harvest, they don't. I don't quite know why. Still, gardener's hands know best, I guess.

  14. I haven't been picking much either. Today I saw that something is eating my kale. The young leaves look good, but the bigger ones are getting eaten. Yikes! I love this Harvest Monday. I look forward to seeing what everyone still has!

  15. Though I encourage others to do the same, I'm just as guilty about not picking as much as I should when taking care of other's gardens. I don't know why that is but, even with permission, it almost feels like stealing...

  17. Asian greens is about all I have left in the garden. It's pretty sparse this time of year.
