I finally got a spring harvest. I needed to clear out the onion bed and I had some mache there. Not a lot. 1.5 oz. But at least it is a harvest in early spring. I think my kale will be starting soon too. I'll have to get the winter yuck out of the bed and clean it all up to see what I really have though. Many of the plants died. Even my over wintered spinach is starting to grow.
Harvest Monday is a day to show off your harvests, how you are saving your harvest, or how you are using your harvest. If you have a harvest you want to show off, you can add your link in your comment below. Since I seem to have some widget that is causing redirects, I'm not going to have a Linky for now. If you still do get redirects without the Linky please let me know.

Nice green. I thought it was basil. I'm in basil withdrawl. I sowed 40 seeds of it this weekend I need it so much! LOL.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful mache, small but tasty I am sure. Many of my over wintered plants did not make it through the winter.
ReplyDeleteSounds as though we're in about the same space in current and future harvests :-) A little green can go a long way to sooth a winter-weary soul, though!
ReplyDeleteHooray for greens!!
ReplyDeleteIt's still chilly out, but the quality of the light's changed enough to signal spring!
ReplyDeleteNice bunch of corn salad, I still don't have anything from my spring sowings
ReplyDeleteHey Daphne, I'm getting a lot of pop-ups and redirects on your page lately. Some of them are pretty explicit. Have you noticed it at all?
ReplyDeleteI'm not getting them on my browser. I've been told it happens on an iPad. Can you tell me what you used when you got the redirect? I tried it once on an iPad and got a redirect, but couldn't reproduce it. I've looked in the source code, but the only redirects I see are ones that go to legitimate sites. I've been trying to get blogger help and they are not responding. Tried running my blog through a site that checks for hijacks and it came out clean. So I'm pretty clueless at this point. If anyone knows anything about it, email me. I could use the help.
DeleteOh and have you gotten it on a different page than the Harvest Monday pages? I'm wondering if the Linkys are an issue (since it has only been brought to my attention on Mondays - though that is the busiest day). I've looked at what the script sends back and it seems benign.
DeleteIt's not just the Harvest Monday posts and not just on the iPad either, it happens on my desktop Mac as well, at least for me. And it doesn't happen every time I go to your blog. Very mysterious.
DeleteI'm getting them on an ipad. Also when I am on my imac it is showing pop ups are being blocked in firefox. Maybe Susy or her husband can help out at Chiot's Run, I think they do alot of coding on their blog. There has to be some script buried somewhere.
DeleteYeah very Apple related. It doesn't seem to happen in Windows. I've looked at all the links in the blog and don't find any. It has to be some kind of widget doing it. And all I can say is that it might be easier to redo the whole blog look at the same time. Dump what I have. It isn't a complicated site. If it is the Linky though it will be a big pain. I do count on it.
DeleteI can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to Summer harvests! A little PSB is all very well, but I want my whole garden to be full of veg. And I want to be able to join in on Harvest Mondays again...
ReplyDeleteHooray for the first spring harvest! I'm getting near the end of the overwintered veggies and will have to wait for the spring planted ones to start.
ReplyDeleteI've been having the same issues as Dan - redirects to undesirable sites when I go to your page. I thought it might be me. I cleared all the cookies and website data from my iPad and installed an ad blocker on my Mac which seems to help. I thought clearing the cache worked on the iPad but it turns out it didn't. Not sure what's up.
It does only seem to happen with Apple for some reason. I've been trying to find info on the web about it and it seems to be a very specific Apple issue (though Androids are hit too, but don't know if Androids use an Apple OS or not).
DeleteNice to harvest some Mache! More than I harvested but the time is coming soon! Thanks for sharing and letting us share! Nancy
ReplyDeleteSome harvest is always better than no harvest. I posted photos of all the flowers and blooming fruit trees in our yard to give you New Englanders some hope.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the harvest! It's been great to see everything you have been doing out in the garden the past week. . . Just the motivation I needed ;)
ReplyDeleteHi Daphne - very lovely harvest. I have never grown mache before, it looks like Basil. looking fwd to summer and warm weather.
ReplyDeleteI DO NOT get any redirects or crazy ads like people mentioned. I am windows 8 and IE 10.
Yeah Windows seems OK. I don't get them on my Windows computer either. Apple is the issue.
DeleteCongrats on the Mache. I also got a redirect the first time I added my link. Instead of adding it redirected to an Australian classifieds page. I was using Windows 7 on a laptop.
ReplyDeleteHmm first time I heard of it happening on Windows. I think I'm going to remove the Linky and see if that helps.
DeleteOooh - I'm getting lots of naughty pop ups from your site too I'm afraid. I also cannot see how to add my link anymore - http://www.theadventuresofmisspiggy.com/2013/04/balcony-garden-harvest-monday-20.html
ReplyDeleteI wonder what mache is? It looks a bit like baby spinach?
Nice to have something green to harvest! I didn't plant mache this winter, need to remember to do so next year.
ReplyDeleteHere's my first salad harvest of the year: http://sanguinaria-budding.blogspot.com/2013/04/harvest-monday-4113.html
Thumps up for first harvest, nice greens.
ReplyDeleteSomething is weired, don't see Mr. Linky can't link to your blog. Same issues as Dan and Michelle, not working for ipad and pc.
I took Mr Linky out. I think I'm going to have to redo the blog since Blogger refuses to help me. I'll probably just wipe the template and all the widgets except the ones I create and see how it does. I put your blog in the hand done links. Until I'm willing to put Linky back in you can just put a comment in with your link and I'll add it.
DeleteHurrah for a harvest of greens. After the late season snow storms you have had, it must feel really good to have a harvest of fresh greens to enjoy.
ReplyDeleteYes, getting redirects and McAfee warnings
ReplyDeleteA bit late to the post, but here's our link - http://www.comidayolas.com/2013/04/from-garden-412013.html
ReplyDeleteYes, getting same redirects as edible gardens...
ReplyDeleteI don't think it's Mr. Linky, I just got redirected again. I had to close the tab and open a new one because using the back button just sent me on yet a different redirect. That was on the iPad, I'm going to see what happens on the desktop.
ReplyDeleteSpring harvest! Lucky you! :)
ReplyDeleteI didn't harvest too much as I just cleaned out my summer patch and planted it out for winter.
ReplyDeleteThis is my harvest

I'm sorry, I can't seem to get to the Linky??
