Harvest Monday - August 22 2011

Monday Harvest

I was gone most of last week so I just had harvests on Monday and Tuesday. I had Allie take care of the garden, but I didn't ask her to weigh all the produce or photograph it. So I have no clue as to what else came out of my garden this week.

Tuesday Harvest

  • Beans 0.81 lbs
  • Cucurbits 1.25 lbs
  • Tomato 18.06 lbs
  • Weekly Total 20.13 lbs
  • Weekly Spent $0
  • Yearly Total 407.19 lbs
  • Veggie Garden was worth $776.34
  • Fruit 1.69 lbs

Harvest Monday is a day to show off your harvests, how you are saving your harvest, or how you are using your harvest. If you have a harvest you want to show off, add your name and link to Mr Linky below.

It will be exciting not only to see how your garden is when you get back but what came out of it. Monday and Tuesday still gave you a pretty good yield!

Hope you had a great vacation. I was away from the garden last week but no one came to harvest so I returned to some monster cukes and zucchini.

Wow, another 18lbs of tomatoes. Geeeeez. Does that spell more canning for you? :)

That's just from a couple of days? Wow! Impressive totals, too. I always love coming back after a vacation and seeing how everything has grown!

That picture of your tomatoes is good enough to be your blog title picture. Very nice. I wish our tomatoes came in so uniformly ripe. We're picking them early just to save them from the disease and bugs.

Wow, I'll take some of those tomatos please :) Hope you enjoyed your vacation!

Nice haul for only two days. I expect you will be coming back to quite a bit more. I hope you had a great time and that you return to find everything in good order.

Nice toms. I to have been picking my tomatoes early but they ripen fast in the house. Can't get enough ripe at one time however to start canning. I haven't picked a one from the garden. They are all coming off the potted tomatoes which are about done.

It must be so nice to have someone to tend your garden while you're away. I generally just leave it all to chance while I'm out of time.

I see your tomatoes are still producing well. My plants are starting to show signs of disease now. I'll be interesting to see how long they will last.

Hi, Daphne! That looks like a nice harvest! :) Last week I was visiting my parents in the country and had such poor connection on the internet so I could not connect to Your blog and make a comment, sorry about that! But now I´m back! Have a nice day/evening! :) MIa

Oh I admire your patience to weigh all your produce. Here´s my contribution to Harvets Monday. A lot of onions and some cherrytomatoes coocked in oil to keep for winter :)

Thanks for all the comments. It was a fun trip. Now I just have to catch up with everything.

I just froze all the tomatoes. I'll do something with them sometime, but not now. I still haven't gotten out to the garden yet. I'll have to check it out this morning.

My tomatoes are slowing down and the plants are dying back. However, my second crop of beans is producing, plus I have a third crop of blue lake beans that should be ready soon.

This week, we're harvesting the grapes and canning the juice.
