Oh So Wrong

I was reading my RSS feeds this morning. One of them is the Farmer's Almanac. It has the weather for all the sections of the country. It says for the Northeast: "12th-15th Unseasonably warm temperatures for Easter Sunday." I just had to laugh. Usually they aren't so horribly wrong. Easter Sunday will not have unseasonable warm temperatures. In fact it will be the coldest day in April yet and at about 15°F below our average temperatures here, I would even go so far as to say unseasonably cold.

  1. Lol....here too. Although the weather pundits were calling for 6-8 inches of snow, and we got about 1 inch only. I call that Robin's snow, or poor man's fertilizer, and also lucky for us!

  2. Brrrr, cold and windy here, too. I can't face planting in this outdoors, so I guess I'll go play in the greenhouse instead!

  3. Arrrggh...we're supposed to go from the 50s this week to the 80s next week! That always happens here, we jump from cold to hot with no in-between. At least I should be able to begin planting my tomatoes by May 1.

  4. Thanks for visiting Mutiny Daphne and for the pick! Very exciting. : )
Our weatherman last night told us it was going to be decent today at sunny and 55. He followed that good news with the comment that we should get out and enjoy it because it was the last good day in the forecast for the foreseeable future. Gotta love April.

  5. So sorry to hear that, Daphne. I hope it warms up for you soon. We had total overcast and light rain this morning, but in the afternoon it was like a flood of hard rain! Hope you had a good Easter in spite of your cold temps!

  6. Jodi, oh yes, I love when that happens, at least in spring. In the winter I love to xcski so love the snow.

Our Friend Ben, ah for a greenhouse. I keep saying someday I'll have one, but it hasn't happened yet.

Annie's Granny, 80s how nice (or not if you are looking forward to peas). I keep waiting for the usual warm spell. We usually get a winter thaw and didn't have it. One day last April we got into the 80s (ave high here in April is the in the high 50s). Weird spikes are normal, but we just haven't gotten any high spikes. Just the low ones. Maybe soon.

bughunter99, well I hope you went out and enjoyed the nice day.

Keewee, I know they make those forecasts a long time in advance. I wonder how long. A year maybe?

Tessa, It will start warming up again. At least my weathermen all say that so I'm going with it.
