Harvest Monday, February 23rd, 2013

I've got nothing. Not even a little photo of what I've been eating. Life has been too busy this week. At least I have been eating from my stores. I even made dinner for a sick friend and used my spinach and squash as sides. I was trying to get everything done so I could take my vacation. My MIL takes all her daughters (including DILs) to Canyon Ranch every couple of years. It is so nice and relaxing there. Exactly the opposite of my last week. My husband will hold down the fort here. I've got some onion seedlings all up and growing. He is not a plant person, but I think it will need to be watered just once when I'm gone. I've shown him how to pet my onions (I pet them to keep them growing strong and healthy in a windless environment). And I've shown him how to water (bottom water always as top watering erodes the soil blocks).

Have fun enjoying your harvests without me this week. I'll be back by next Monday.

Harvest Monday is a day to show off your harvests, how you are saving your harvest, or how you are using your harvest. If you have a harvest you want to show off, add your name and link to Mr Linky below.

  2. Enjoy your vacation! My boyfriend also is not a plant person...he is super knowledgeable but when he was little, garden/farm work was a chore so he doesn't quite see it as a hobby. I'm slowly trying to get him interested :)

  3. My husband usually does a fine job of watching over my seedlings when I have to be away for a stretch of days, but I always write everything down and "show" him what to do as well, so it takes all the guesswork out of it for him. I hope you have a great vacation and get to really relax.

  5. Aren't those days before vacation awful? I need to work on that. Yes, leaving your seedlings is like entrusting your offspring to another.

  7. No harvests for me this week either - except a few herbs and the odd Bay leaf or two - but I thought I'd drop by and say Hello anyway. Hope you have a good vacation (and don't spend too much time worrying about your plants!). I'm away from home this week too, so Jane is in charge of the seedlings (not a very onerous task at this time of year. Not like it will be in April).

  9. My harvest this week was what we were able to forage from our local winter farmers' market!

  14. Belle concerns herself as much with me about my attention to the details as you! After reading a "laundry list" of responsibilities tomorrow morning (posted on the door no less), I am encouraged because, like Belle, you worry a little bit too about your man!
