This week is going to be a real wintery week. We will have highs in the 30Fs for the most part, and lows in the mid 20Fs. Oh and as you can see we got more snow. About eight inches. We have flurries predicted on Thursday too. I'm glad I didn't plant my peas this last weekend. They are predicting a warmup over the weekend, so maybe the peas and spinach can get in then. I'm hoping.
And on a happier note, my husband got the connection to the weather station working again. I lost a couple of weeks of data, but at least it will now keep the lows again. I'm still trying to figure out what the normal last frost date is around here. Not that we ever have "normal", but the info is still useful.
Sadly we're in the same boat - snow everywhere so nothing gets planted. Maybe this weekend will be warm enough to get beds tilled.
ReplyDeleteIt certainly seems late to be having such weather now, or maybe that's because I'm comparing it to the mild winter you had last year. Normal, hah! Especially these days. I hope it warms up for you and the peas and spinach. :)
ReplyDeleteWanna is it a NORM of having snow at this time of the year or not? As I am from the tropics, I dont know much about snowing.
ReplyDeleteHow wish I can embedd myself in the snow on my hot afternoon!
Wow...that is a lot of snow...
ReplyDeleteyuck!!!
ReplyDeleteThe same is here in Poland, gusty wind and snow :(
ReplyDeletelast year during this week i planted mustard greens & bok choy seedlings outside. big difference!
ReplyDeleteIt is bitter cold here but we don't have the snow -- yet! Nancy
ReplyDeleteI'm with Dew--A little jealous of your snow! Good thing the peas are not under it all :-)
ReplyDeleteIt has certainly been an adjustment this winter compared to the last few years! We have luckily been missed by the last two eastern storms but it sure is cold out.
ReplyDeleteWe missed the snow but got the cold. I am not sure what 'normal' weather is anymore. Last year I was unprepared for an early spring, because I started seedlings by my usual schedule. This year who knows.
ReplyDeleteWe don't have snow here in the Cotswolds but it seems crazy that I'm still stoking up the woodburner while I work. This time last year we had a heatwave and I was taking my daughter to gather wild garlic in the woods, mainly for the shade!
ReplyDeleteI'm not certain that anyone has "normal" anymore, really. Hang in there.
ReplyDeleteGoodness Sakes! Will winter never quit for you this year?! Yikes!
ReplyDeleteYes, spring seems slow in starting this year. Which for maybe the first time ever is okay by me given the amount of work I have to do!
